Re: Project 4G63T PG1 Updated
An explanation of the name Evo 0.
the 1992 E38A-SNGF4 Galant VR4 Evo was the basis on which the Evo 1 was built. since the transmission, axles, turbo, intake manifold, injectors, exhaust manifold, intercooler, brakes, etc were carried over to the evo 1. It is often Called an Evo 0 or PRE-Evo.
My car is a 1989 E39A-SNPF Galant VR4.
Some of the differences:
510cc Injectors vs 490cc
Larger Front Mount intercooler
Cooling slats below grille on front bumper
NO fog lamps
Larger Oil cooler
TD05H-16G6 turbo vs TD05-14B6 turbo
Non Cyclone Intake manifold
4 Bolt clutch type mechanical rear differential vs OPEN type
Different final drive ratio same as the Evo 1-9
Hardened transmission gears with double synchronized 1st - 5th gear, Hardened Sleeves and Thicker selector Fork.
LSD front and center differential
Alu Hood, Fenders, Trunk
Vents on hood.
Momo Steering wheel
Firmer seats.
No 4 Wheel Steer
Shorter steering ratio
Single Board EPROM ecu vs Dual Board
better cams
Just to name a few.
Quite a bit of those things have been either replaced with better or similar on my car
Since i have a 4 bolt Viscous rear diff. I now have an 1990 Evo RS transmission
I plan on getting carbon Evo 0 replica hood and a carbon trunk
I intend on getting a Front LSD and a Ralliart center diff.
Will be getting a EPROM ecu or just use E-manage.
I have a significantly larger intercooler and Turbo
Plan on building the trans sometime next year and double syncro all gears as well as place in the hardened Evo 3 Gears and Selector forks to name a few things
