Re: the Quest for a 9 Sec Daily Evo
That car won't go 9's with a 2.3L stroker. The 2.3L is not good for high revs. Why have a head that's good for 10,500 rpm's and a bottom end that's good for only 8500 rpm's? If you look at all of the 9 and 8 sec Evo's , you'll notice they all run 2.0L motors. DynoFlash and AMS both failed running 9's with a 2.3L and went back to the 2.0L bottom end. The list sure does look quite impressive though.

No CT9A wrote: The AMS motor I am using is one of a kind...that's why it's built by them and not sold as a kit...it uses lightweight components to allow it to rev higher than other strokers.
A regular AMS or buschur stroker maxes out at 8400rpms or so.....the one I have can safely rev out to 9000rpms..more than enough. My gearbox was also designed based on my wheel tire combo to hit my target ET and trap speeds using a max rev of 9000.
The choice of cylinder head was for 2 reasons...one is that I can't go wrong with the increased flow. I don't need the max revs of 10,500 on it either. The second is that I plan to go with a 42R later on...so with this head..it makes it one thing less I'll have to buy.
