Toyota 1JZ Powered kit car made in St. Lucia

Post by Lucian_rider »

Hi all,

Just thought some of you might be interested in a fiberglass body kit car that has just been finished in St. Lucia after 3 years of work.

The body was bought off E-Bay as a collection of parts and the engine was sourced from a Supra front cut bought locally here.

Due to a marine background, the owner used a lot of marine hardware hence a lot of high quality stainless fittings throughout and marine grade plywood floorboards.

The chassis is a Ford/tubular combination, all body work was finished and painted by the Canadian/St. Lucian owner/builder.

Apart from the total lack of seat belts and a roll bar, the car is totally road worthy and I would guess a beast with that engine and a total all up weight of less than 2,000 pounds.

Here come the pics....

I think maybe the picture of the engine bay is not clear enough to show that the engine is in no way dirty at all. Most of the aluminium surfaces are heavily oxidized and it is very difficult to do anything with that other than polishing or wire brushing and other than being difficult to do would also look odd as well.

The plastic parts are faded as I guess the engine might have been out in the weather for a while. You have to remember that although the rest of the car is basically new, the engine is not.

But damn you guys are a bunch of critics....

Dominicans generally are...we hard to please :D

I think what my colleagues MEANT to say was the engine should be looking as spec as the outside. I guess most of the plastic and metal fittings would have to be replaced. But I think the car can get by on the engine swap merit alone.

Now let's see some numbers dude!! tell the owner to slap a G-tech on that tiny windshield and burns some rub...jes now! an auto dat dere man!?!
