77th edition of the Geneva International Motor Show : On the winners' rostrum!
The final report is positive on all counts: a media success, high attendance levels and widespread exhibitor satisfaction. With 730'736 entries, the event organisers have achieved and even surpassed their objectives. The international nature of the event was confirmed, as much on the visitor side as on the exhibitors’, who came from over 100 countries worldwide. The rendezvous for the next edition is set for the 6th - 16th March 2008.
Large international public
The declared objective of 700'000 entries was largely exceeded with a final figure of 730’736 visitors - the second best result ever in the history of the show. Research conducted amongst 15’000 visitors during the first six days of the event revealed that they were residents of over 100 different countries. Mid-way through the exhibition, further research revealed that 39% of visitors were from overseas. A full and detailed analysis of the findings will be published towards the end of March.
Exhibitors optimistic
According to a survey conducted by the Exhibitors Commission across all stands, exhibitor satisfaction was almost universal and visitors’ intention to purchase on the increase.
Broad and positive media coverage
Some 5'000 representatives of the media from the published, audio-visual and electronic press around the world attended the event. The media coverage was not only plentiful, but very complimentary about the quality of this year’s vintage and the dominant role of the Geneva Motor Show within the annual international automobile show calendar.
