Why people think stock internals cannot take boost? As long as his engine is tuned properly and he is on top of everything. It will last him a while. Detonation, high cylinder pressure is what he needs to keep an eye on. If he is just tuning fuel then that's another ting but full control of fuel and spark, it can be a reliable setup.

It has nothing to do with A/F or any of the other factors you mentioned. In this case it has to do with cylinder wall thickness. They are thin. And before you even mention..."oh just sleeve it"...doesn't help that much.

motion... i understand what u are saying but we have the right amount of spark and the right amount of fuel...and best of all we have the BLAH BLAH mechanics working on it.

yeah i see where he coming from. dosent matter if the A/F is at its best, boost capabilities are still slim because boost is boost, no matter what the conditions. if the walls too thin then it dont matter how good the A/F mix is the walls still wont bear much boost. hmmmmmm SLEEVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!

coming to think about it. isnt sleeving a hopelessly thin block like laying blocks with weak mortar? correct me if i am wrong, but the strong sleeve sitting in a structurally not so strong block dosent help much does it?

If wall thickness is the case then it would not be even suitable under normal driving. The faillure is caused by increased cylinder pressures... the first weak link would fail and that being the cylinder walls.

yesterday when we ran the car it ran at 6psi but the wastegate was opening at 5psi, and today we change the wastegate and it now opens at 15psi...but the whp is unknown for now cause the car haven't been on the dyno.

The car hasn't been tuned but it should be by the weekend. The b20 could hold alot of pressure but it won't let u go pass 12psi if u don't bi pass the map sensor.

Doesn't hondata allow you to use aftermarket map sensors? I know even the S100 allows it and the recommend not using bypass valves or rising rate regulators etc.
