SHARE YOUR THOUGHTS
FIRST OF ALL I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW, DO YOU SEE A MOTORSPORTS ARENA AS A GOOD THING FOR DOMINICA?
IF YES WHAT SIZE DO YOU THINK WE COULD HANDLE 1/4 MILE OR 1/8 RACE TRACK?
ARE THERE ENOUGH CAR ENTHUSIAST ON THE ISLAND TO PARTAKE, IF GIVEN THE OPPORTUNITY?

Re: SHARE YOUR THOUGHTS
i don't believe there are enough car enthusiasts right now in Dominica but the population is slowly growing. I think that this idea should be based on a 'Build it and they will come' kind of thing. If it is built the guys who already are car enthusiasts will part take and influence the other guys who have fast cars and dont want to race on the road or those who want to get into the scene. Cuz when fellas like robby and dem come and put down their times other guys will want to see if they can beat those records. Thats my opinion

I'm not sure how well it would work because the question is how many guys would be able/want to pay to use the track. Because you must charge something to maintain the upkeep. I would personally prefer a circuit though. Never really liked drag racing.

Re: SHARE YOUR THOUGHTS
My thought on the matter is..
Its not a matter of who races now. There are many guys who would not consider racing on the street because of the dangers involved. But that doesn't take away the fact that they are enthusiasts. Even within the police force has a lot of guys who would be interested in this. Hopefully today i can make some progress on Operation "You will know Later"
As a tourism product, Motor sport can attract more stay over visitors than what Dominica normally sees in their Off season, so we should probably gear our events towards those times. It really is a build it and they will come. The key to making it a success is getting the young guys like those in the Nissan Sunny's, corollas etc racing. Make allowance to the slow cars to be interested in competing

I believe that this is the misconception of motor sports where as only the fast and furious should partake, I will shamefully say that I was one of the “non believers”, until recently I went to a few events, and saw guys with 20 sec cars running the track and surprisingly majority of the people there just wanted to have fun,

yeah seriously looking at d/ca with its curves and sways it would be best but why not have two tracks in one a 1/4 mile start and circuit finish. lol
what would be the recomended price range for participants and audience?

Re: SHARE YOUR THOUGHTS
Yea i was thinkin the same thing, a 2 in one, where u would have a 1/4 mile streach which would double as the drag strip. And i definitly think that ppl would use the track because they have a fully legit place to run. As sco said there are a large no. of cops with cars or interested in cars that would finally be free to participate. Muchess for the youngings that are coming up. I dont think we would have much of a problem with utilization of a track. The biggest problem i see is the funds. Not to mention trianing in handling a fire and all of that, cuz we not goin to be payin for emergency services
everytime it in use, so at least in case of sumthing we can start doin sumthing while waitin for help. Anybody had any ideas on this if i'm jus ramblin on misinformed?

Ah a 1/4 track and a circuit....for what ? For Evo-man to race himself?
Realistically a 1/4 mile strip would suffice, St.Lucia uses an abandoned air strip to great effect. A circuit could then be based upon the success of 1/4mile track.
