Delilia ecu is in safe mode.. Refuses to rev above 3000 rpm.. other symptoms includes fairly high idle about 1500/1600 rpm's. Oh the Tach is working by the way..hehe.

After putting the ECU in test mode in gave the error code... hmm lets see how i can explain.. (5 second interval between the start and finishing blinks) so lets say.. (2.5 secs interval)Blink(2.5 secs)Blink(1 sec)Blink(2.5 secs). Seconds.. roughly..i think it was more 2 secs after the first blink.

From the repair manual point of view that looks like.. __||__||_||__ code 12 I think.. Crank senors or Cam no1 or 2 sensor no signal..

Feel free to comment. I did this from my head.. at work.. soo I will have to double check if i made a mistake :D..lol

safe mode.... timing issues, overboost, sequence of engine knock, faulty crank or cam sensor and or circuitry... its the timing... the intake cam has no 1 and 2 cam sensor reading two sets of tiny lobes sittin off of the intake cam. if these aren't in sync with the crank you have safe mode.

symptoms include and not limited to the following...
intermittent misfire
boost rising while parked
rpm limited to 3000rpm
throwing flames out the exhaust
engine seems to be under load laboring
black smoke indication of running rich..

fix..... remove radiator, upper timing cover, center timing cover and crank pulley, lower timing cover.. observe belt tension on the tensioner side and on the opposite side which would be your rhd side looking toward the engine.... this is why it usually jumps a teeth especially after seating or being turned anti clockwise.
tensioner has two 12mm bolts pulled from under the alternator, its a hydraulic tensioner requires alot of force to push it in. The timing marks are on the oil pump and back plate of cam gears. the marks ARE NOT at 12 o'clock rather they are offset. Make sure the crank sprocket its on top dead centre precisely. then set the cams intake should be around 11:58 and exhaust around 12:02 reinstalling the tensioner sometimes causes the belt to move turning the gears compensate for that.

refer to fsm for futher detail this is off my head

Idle problem solved. Instead of waiting for the ECU to relearn the idle.. Opened the Idle control valve.. spun the motor to the desired idle position.. closed it back.. tada!.. 650 to 700 rpm's.. lovely!.

Ahhh... next prob.. is the damn safe mode.. will be taking Dell's advice.. double check the timing.. hopefully soon :D.. lol and amm.. as well as run my AC lines.. insert a oil switch.. all of which sounds simple.. until u watch the clearance in the engine bay.. and then at which point u turn around and go back home and sleep :D..

Missed my road date.. but.. shit happens. I guess I will leave it as a surprise.. lol even for myself... " Is it true that Delilia will be out next 2 weeks?" [chair]
