Project Aristo

Post by Smokey »

Yes I made the switch! My wife said no more Evo since we are working on a family budget so I had to get something that we could both agree on. A two door car was not an option and my JDM Evo 6 definitely wasn't either. I spoke with a couple of importers about bringing over a JDM Aristo but the final figures were way over budget. I figured out that I could build my own Aristo for way less. With that said I picked up this 2000 Lexus GS300 last week from Virginia.

[clapping] [thumbsup] [kick] ....nice. In that case I got a friend who has a set of 19" Privat wheels for sale.....$650(8 and 9.5) and a set of Tein coilovers $1000 plus stock suspension. Got pics if interested. They are both coming of a '01 Gs300. May be able to take pics on car the tomorrow at the VIP meet.

Happy to see a Lexus projects coming up.

I do not understand why your wife does not consider the EVO a family car?

I needed something that was super clean and didn't need any body work. I wanted one specifically in black and it's almost impossible to find one with no dents or scratches in NY. I searched around for a whilebut didn't find anything I was satisfied with so I went out of state.

After all the money that she saw go into EVO2ENVY there was no negotiation. I had my mind set on a JDM Evo 6 but it would have cost near $25k to bring it over and get it legalized. An Evo X would run me near $35k. I picked this GS up for $7000 and I'm sure I can make 500WHP for less than $5K.

500whp for 5gs might be stretching it, but we get the point.....more HP for less spent.
