Which is a better daily driver?

Post by 2jz »

Guys,

Would appreciate your thoughts on which would make a better daily driven car betwen an Evo and STI? Lets try to center thoughts around key parameters such as reliabilty, cost to maintain and to a lesser extent comfort and fuel economy (I wouldn't expect either to be GREAT in this regard)

Thanks

Ok oK on a serious note. Between the two cars...if you aren't doing much modifications, it comes down to a matter of preference.

The subaru and the evo have similar gas mileage, but the subaru has a larger tank so you can go further on one tank of gas. Which is better is negligible since they are very similar to each other...Personal preference wins. It also depends on what year you are thinking of owning and what trim level.

Eg the Spec C or an S20x will be faster than any evo mitsubishi puts out from factory (I am not talkin about FQ models because those are after thoughts by UK dealers).

The subaru has a nicer interior, Less agressive seats, and a Smoother ride. Its also not as Jumpy as the evo.

The subaru a bit more expensive to modify....and a bit more tempermental. Now this also goes back to what year you choose. Now either of those cars i still wouldn't give them the wear and tear of daily driving on dominica roads.

Thanks for the feedback.

Definitely the GDB STI versus the Evo 5 and up. Serious mods aren't really a consideration for the time being, so that factor is less of a concern to me. Being rallybread .... I would expect that they would be able to hold up to the type of rigging that would come from being driven on out roads daily. That being said ... am I being daft in thinking the the manufacturers actually make these cars with that type of quality considered?

This may be a less technical answer.. but in my pursuit of trying to get facts to mouth off that the Subaru STI is better than the Evo.. I have came up short on numerous occasions.

BUTTTTT!!!!

Every video or side by side test that I have seen and read independent of each other.. they go on to say how the evo is like a rocket.. handles great around corners.. bla bla bla (nothing that amazing anyways.. [whistle] )... lol..they always end by saying... "if i had to choose one of these cars for myself.. I would go with the subaru.. Its just more fun to drive".... Every time!!!!!!! [behhh]

I should take this opportunity to say that... the Subaru beat the new Evo 10 round the track on Top gear.. and Launches off the line quicker due to Evo 10 Dumb Flappy padal...gear box :D ... Some say... Subaru's are worst the Evo.. All I know is.. my next car is a STI. [laugh]

Here we go again.
Like Sci say, it's a matter of choice. bothe cars are neck and neck in just about all aspect. I am a Subie fan but all in all the evo have a slight advantage averall if one have to be honest.
Subie is it. [drive]
this is impressive.....
