Re: Turbo D16Z6.
I am not sure what else im going to do to the head...I am welcome to any suggestions.
I am thinking that i should just replace the valves instead of grinding them.
I can find all that s**t here but as far as how significant a change they will make in the
performance of the car i doh know. Honestly i open to anything while i have the head off.

Re: Turbo D16Z6.
check the top of the block where the head mates to make sure its flat and within service spec.
Even if you get new valves, you will still have to grind them to get them to seat nicely. Grinding the valves help create a proper seat for them to keep the combustion contained within the chamber. Check them for straightness.

After taking the head apart i cleaned up all the ports, valves and grinded the valves so that they would seat better than they were. Used a compound that i found at advance auto for valve grinding.

Started to put the head back together, got a valve spring compressor from advance. Had to get the big 50 dollar one because they didnt have a hand held. Returned it after i got done using it. I could use that money for something better

The table looks like a roof of a car... try to avoid putting sinks in the body. Nice work.. If it isn't... I would say that head looks ported.

Re: Turbo D16Z6.
Been a while since ive done any work on the car. Been hitting it really heavy though the past couple of days. Recently put in a new aluminum radiator that i purchased off of ebay. I no longer have an over heating problem, Might be too early to tell.
Now in the process of replacing the front motor mounts.
Next big project will be to do a rear disc brake conversion. Already bought the trailing arms from a DA integra. Purchased the e brake lines to go along with it.
Removed the a/c system. That may have been a mistake cause summer is right around the corner.
Advanced the timing one tooth...no longer have a acceleration lag problem. Only thing is really, im getting some white smoke from the exhaust. Sci told me that is may be a bad turbo oil seal. Gonna look into that.
Ordering some Denso injectors, resistor box because the car is running a some what lean.
After all that is done, Im gonna do the tranny swap....im keeping an eye out for an 88-91 si tranny, reason being
the gear ratios, and because its a cable transmission. I figure that would be easier to install than a hydro one...not to mention
the consistancy of the cluch. Could have gotten all the parts i needed for the swap minus the tranny and motor mount but both my car registrations were expired had to take car of that instead.

Re: Turbo D16Z6.
There was def no hope for this mount.
Not sure the proper way to install the new one, but i fugured out a pretty easy and time saving way.
Probably obvious from the picture.
The next mount goes on tomorrow.

The aluminum radiator did not come with the holes for the transmission lines. Ordered a transmission cooler...Just need some longer hoses and a place to mount it. For now i have the supply and return lines attached. Should be comple by tomorrow if i get a chance.
