Re: Project 4G63T PG1 Updated
Yup...conisdering I write service for toyota....I see the good, the bad and the ugly. Never seen so many of the same problems....had two come in on Sat....A-pillar trim falling off. The other problem they have is the CD players. On the SE...the trim on the bodykit at the front pops out. The center piece on the lower part of the front bumper falls right if you bump it. Just this morning had another customer complain about the hesitation it has on take off (4cyl). The 2GR V6 is fast as hell.
Right know Toyota only make a few trouble free cars.....Prius, Fj, 4-runner v6, Rav4 and all the Scions. For the most part the Avalon is okay (ganster ride).

Re: Project 4G63T PG1 Updated
Another small update
Today we wired up the gauges and sterio. Relocated the battery including the tie down straps, circuit breaker etc. Turbo timer and fuel pump installed.
The supra fuel pump was a direct drop in, re-using everything from my factory fuel hanger. Just pull out the pump and put in the new one.
Lil stig also dropped by for the better part of the day giving a hand when he could.
Thanks a lot to Berky and Trotty for helping solve a lot of the electrical issues inside the car.

Well yesterday charddy came by the garage to check out the progress on the car.
We dropped the sub frame to finish remove the 4WS stuff remaining and to put on the new LSD. We found out one of the brake lines had been broken, so that needs to be repaired before the car can make it back to the road.

Re: Project 4G63T PG1 Updated
Well berky finished up cleaning up the wiring inside the car. We replaced all the blown/modified fuses and check on the remainder of the stuff. Only the power windows and central locking remains. We put back in the backseat and trim pieces within the car, had the stereo wired up together with the gauges.
A lot of the ignition wires had been tampered with. They used a combination of Duct tape, Contact Cement and Glue to tie wires together. There are one or two of the large fuses i remain to replace once i can get them.
With regards to the rear sub frame we dropped. It looks like I'm gonna have to either purchase 4 new shocks (don't see the point in buying just one shock) or jus hold out and get myself a set of coilovers. But I'm just happy that all the major electricals are a go
. I know once the engine gets here i need to have a new thermostat, Knock sensor, coolant temp sensor (water neck one) and two new Oxygen sensors to drop in. I haven't gotten around to testing out my ISC yet as well as some of the other sensors on the engine.
Hopefully today i will get the old 3 bolt axle cups out to install the beefier 4 bolt cups as well as install my LSD rear diff. The interior is almost completely re-assembed (Not done, but re-assembled since i need to reupholster the seats, panels and roof. Pics to come by about lunch time...or as soon as i find the damn USB cable![wallbash [wallbash]](./images/smilies/wallbash.gif)
