Scion TC S/c FYI

Post by motion sickness »

Been at my Toy. dealership for some time now and have seen a few TC's with superchargers. Driven at least two in the lot, 1 man and 1 auto. Finally got to take one on the highway. It was an auto, '08 with about 30miles on it. All it had was the S/c installed. No exhaust and it comes with the intake, injectors, and reflashed ECU. 4gs later, it sucks! What a waste of money. Had more fun driving a S/c'd Tacoma. At best it felt like a V6 Camry/Avalon/Rav4/Sienna/ES350 with less torque, but with a smoother power band, and alot less wheel spin. Even a Levin gtz has more push than it out the hole. It would really be interesting to see what the improvement would be with the exhaust and/or 5speed.

try some stickier compound tires on the front, the 2AZ is a torquier motor than the 4A found on the levin.

Didn't have a grip problem. I wish that were the issue after adding the supercharger. Also, the S/c is set for 5psi on the TC where as the Levin's are 8psi. Its still a nice kit, but just too pricey.
