Post by scientist »

CPP Motor Developments' current toy -
Try these numbers on for size first - 558 hp & 497 lb-ft
This is one of the best prepared cars I ever saw.

"CPP’s latest project is now finished! After selling our last demo car we were left wondering what should take its place. Initial ideas were to build a 7RS sprint and hill climb car, but with the classic EVO 6 still being the most popular model with our customers we chose to build another 6. We were lucky to receive a phone call from Extreme Autos of Dudley where Colin Ward had just taken an EVO 6 RS sprint in px. A deal was quickly done for the 99 plate RS sprint no '00' - first of the RS sprint's built for their Managing Director’s personal use! With the lessons learned with our previous demo car we decided the only way to build this project was to start from a bare shell up. The RS was stripped of every last component, and nut, bolt and all under seal removed.

The bare shell was now in a fully stripped state and ready for a full safety devices grpA cage to be installed, this was then prepped and painted in CPP blue and the rest of the shell was given a fresh layer of white paint. We were now ready to start building the shell into a car.

Here is a run down of the cars current spec after winning the TOTB3 handling final with the quickest time of the day! and also being awarded the trophy for fastest Japanese car around the circuit!

not the Shafts and props...the Exhaust Housing...the TME was the first evo with a 10.5T housing. the Shafts and props would be from most RS evos since they have titanium instead of Inconnel turbines and shafts, which provide a quicker spool.

Ppl sometimes hybrid the TME and the 9 turbo to get the quicker spool and higher top end, since the 9 compressor housing is also larger

The TME hotside also employs a Twin Flapper to help reduce turbulence and increase boost control. the 9 Compressor has a revised Compressor which helps reduce Surge but has a Single flapper hotside

but here are some comparison pics between a 9 and a TME hot side

Yeah they do...but the Evo 9's compressor housing is a better choice than the 2005 8
