Re: SUNDAY ISLAND TOUR
I notice that there is a lot of division among the "car Guys" Dominica. Sadly, its this will only result in the continued under-development of motorsports on the island. We are probably the only Caribbean country without organised motorsports and thats a shame. I will admit that there is a lot of talenyed guys in D/Ca but the only way to develop the sport is through a collaborative effort. This is a lesson that has been learnt time and time again in many different areas. I greatly believe that if we all come together and do this together, maybe the Dominican public will see us as more than just some guys from roseau who like to drive their cars fast. The sport is not being taken seriously by the public and it is up to us to do something about it. Chatting and posting in onlydom will not solve the problem neither will refusing to participate in events related to the sport. If we really serious about developing motorsports on the island we have to take things to the next level and seriously lobby the Government for assistance. This would however require everyone to come onboard and support in what ever way they can. There are some people among us who have some influence over and access to the policy makers of this country. They should take the lead.

I plan to respray it in white when i get the chance. It's grown on me
Tech we've heard the speech many times before. You forget that we did go to the government level when we sent 3 cars to Antigua to compete. Just ask the drivers of those cars for their opinion on how the relevant government organisations treated them coming back to DA.

Re: SUNDAY ISLAND TOUR
thats exactly my point. You see what I wrote as some speech that you have heard many times before, but how many people really take these speeches seriously. I know about the representation to the government. That was a failure I agree, but it is no excuse to stop trying. Try a different approach, use the influence that we have among the group. I know that there are some people who have that kind of influence espeically in light of new political developments. Look we cannot afford to continue buying fast cars and driving them only on sundays, thats a thing of the past. There are a lot of benifits to having this officially organised and sanctioned, just look at the other countries. There is money to be made in this, including revenue for the government.

Re: SUNDAY ISLAND TOUR
I suggest that a proposal be prepared and presented to the ministry of finance outlining the way in which the sport will be developed and the potential benefits that come along with it. The motorsport industry if developed will not exist by itself. There are many spin offs associated with it. At the end of the day, both the industry and the government will benefit.
