Re: Not your usual S13 convertable
just to remind yall...the car has lots of other points of interest. It has a V6 (better weight distribution as engine is closer to centre of car), it was always a convertible, s14 front end, yada, yada, yada...

If you have the same size tire and add a wider rim to it you not keeping the same size contact patch on the road PLUS stiffening the sidewall???? And about the fender comment...the S13 already has wide body fenders on it. The purpose of that project is uniqueness AND performance - its obvious.
And yes it does look unsafe to have (which is why i was asking if and how the tires are secured on the rim like that) but then again, what about drifting IS inherently safe on a whole? It's like tongue piercing - I not gonna stick metal in my tongue, but for those that have 200 rings all over them already, what's the problem.
DIG D',, in your 2nd part i agree with you .... in your 1st part! that is not what i was saying!.... all i was saying was Damian, drift car or not: wide fenders or not; if you put the correct tire size on the wide rims on the s13 regardless of height 25 30 35 40 and so on it would not go under the fender cause the rim it self is wider than the out side edge of the fender front and back that all i was saying even in the other pics it clearly shows that and to put a 20 mm spacer making it even worse!! im sure its the fender thats wearing out the side wall U can barely see the name of the tire!! but the tire tread is intact
First pic the car is rolling...good luck reading what brand of tire a from a rolling tire
the second car....the FALKEN FK415 is very visible. being black its hard to read at certain angles
The technicalities i refer to was the off set discussion where you even questioned the eligibility of drift as a form of racing.
Lateral etc....saying sideways and back and forward grip didn't sound right so i used the other words that i know to discribe it
Then again as i said...define RIGHT tire size for the rim?
305?
275?
255?
245?
as i said i done with this argument cause it won't go anywhere.
if they wanted larger tires and make it tuck under the fenders more. then he wouldn't have used SPacers and would have selected a different OFFSET for the rims which place the mounting point closer to the outside of the rim and tuck more of the rim under the fenders
i was just playin wit' chu' boss doe fret non my boy lol !! your information is very valuable to all of us in this game!
