Project Papi

Post by TheGoodGuy »

This a project that my paps working on simultaneously with mines.. when I not bugging him to help me.. lol Which is .. never... Always bugging this dude. lol.. Thought I would just share it with you guys.. Its a lil different from the projects on here.. or some of you are use to..but. its normal for him. I grew up seeing these modified vehicles being made..

It's a 92 Toyota Supra.

* Inline Six Chevy Truck Engine (GMC engine.. not sure of the displacement.. But the pistons are huge..not sure of the tags either)
*W58 Gear Box
*Custom Adapter plate
*Chevy Bell Housing

My ole man is.. well Old.. Older.. than many of us here.. hence this is a very modest build. Stock rims.. no bling bling.. etc.

As I am doing with my project.. I will update this project as it makes progress. Here are some pics.

This is the car at it's present state.

Since the engine being used is a different one than that of the Toyota Family.. Some customized mount brackets had to be fabricated to accommodate the position of the engine mounts on the Chevy Engine.

This is the bad boy that's going in.. Could remember this on the last car he droped it in with the complete chevy manual trans.. first gear use to rattle that rear diff... BOOOOYYY.. car going sideways in the garage.. eventually he just pretended that it didnt have a first gear.. and move out from start in 2nd gear. M-Azing.

ofcourse this is preliminary pics, used for moc up etc. I got the meticulous detail thing.. from Paps.. soo.. it's gonna be looking better that this when the time comes. I think.. unless he says shit that.

Here is the the W58 mated to a Chevy bell Housing with an Adapter plate. The w58 was chosen over the Chevy gearbox for better gearing ratio's.. of course and less modification to the body of the supra. Its a bit larger that the w58.

These are just some quick snap shots... more to come.

The head is undetermined as we have two. Not sure which one his going to decide on using with the bottom end. The block was already dropped and mounted into the Supra.. With gear box etc. But.. Unfortunately no pics of that.

I am not certain of the road date of this Supra.. But I am pretty sure its going to be an interesting Hybrid.

The flywheel on that thing is huge. Also modified to be mated with a W58 pressure plate. I will post some pics. Wish I took pics on the process. :((

Forgive my ignorance of Chevy engines...but does that bitch come turbocharged? Is he adding one? or just letting the 5 gazillion litres speak for themselves.

lol.. no prep.. wasn't planned.. actually that was the car I was gonna buy.. and the night b4 I found out about Leslie car, which was in much better condition. Then bout a week later my father bought this one for me.. "parts".. but he also wanted to use the body to house his "I like that engine so much". Coincidence.
