BBP GS300

Instead of jacking someones thread I guess I'll start my own. Ok the newest project on the block is my '93 GS 300 (Aristo). As I'm sure everyone knows its the middle child in the Lexus family. It has a 3000cc inline 6 2jzge...Good starting point. Got the car with 184,000 miles on it about a month ago and it now has 188000 on the clock......purchased and drove it in Florida for the carnival then drove it home, which is about 1700 miles away or 18hrs worth of driving. Also, there is nothing, which needs to be done mechanically. Everything was taken care of by the previous owner within a span of 9 months.....brakes, timing belt, water pump, all the seals, etc. It does have some minor interior and exterior cosmetic damage, which needs to be taken care off. The car did have a funny vibration in the rear over sixty five MPH.
Adv: I choose this car for obvious reasons...the platform. Easy to find mods for it. Shares the same chassis as the SC and the Supra. Strongly considered the SC300, but there is less space in the SC3 for passengers. Even less space in the Supra and they are way to expensive here. Good luxury car that I can potentially do 150 mph in comfort. Also, the fact that the SC300 has been done-up more than a few times did not add to the appeal either. Another reason is the VIP market is still virgin in the US and it will be interesting to see and hopefully be a part of it if it blows up like drifting. Lastly, the price was right.

/b] There are three main disadvantages to this car. The first one is the fact that its a whale with a weak heart and small fins is not cool. Man that car is heavy. The motor does not help at all to move it and even worst the tranny computer is not agressive. It only gets slightly aggressive in PWR mod or if I shift to 2nd then to Drive after is builds up. The other part is the suspension completely sucks. Its way too soft for the weight of the car and it floats on uneven sections of the freeway.
Since I just got it I haven't done very much. Just the basics like change the oil and filter, balanced the tires, and did the alignment.....Oh how I love working for Toyota. Found out what was causing the vibration in the rear. Upon the removal of the tires I found out it was missing 2 lug nuts on the driver rear, that tires was bigger than the other three and later the rear L/R TOE was way off. The result was a feathered drivers rear. That is next in line to be replaced as well as the foglight bulbs.
Pics and updates soon. Also, future plans.
