Project Spartan:

Turn the Lexus Sports Coupe (SC300) into a NA-T with R154 conversion. aiming for 450-500 RWHP
Attend to minor body work that is required and respray factory DPW (Diamond Pearl White)
Other Modifications including Brakes, suspension and interior (leather seats have seen better days) cant think of anything atm

Parts list hasn't been completed yet still looking at parts and talking to guys who have went down the NA-T route, getting the do's the don'ts and the bullshit too so i'm still trying to separate everything and make a decision soon.

Put a 1j or 2j and call it a day. All the money spent on parts to turbo the GE could go to one of these turbo motors.

club NA-T save money, get high compression, quicker spool (less lag) better low end.
engine swap=spend same money on another engine + labor to install + you dont know how long before the stock turbos die out and when they do which might not be too long after, you still have to single turbo. plus you will have a NA engine sitting there doing nothin. dont waste.

For the price of swapping in a 2JZ, he can have a BUILT NA-T motor and make the power he is after.

Wow.....pls let me know where I can also get a built NA-T 2J for $1700usd or less cus I'll be all over that. As far as I know a complete 2JZGTE engine set (engine, ecu, harness, trans and computer) is 1700usd. At the end, they are going to workout to be the same price, with the GTE have more potential for further expansion.

You are neglecting the mans goals for his car.

to Single turbo both cars cost about the same
for the same $1700 he can have a built NA-T with Cams vs a Stock GTE.
Are you gonna wire up the GTE for him? I don't think so.

He can also learn a lot more by building his GE motor than he would with a GTE. In fact, a stock GE motor will meet his goals for his car.
