My SF5

Because of my satisfaction with the red one owned by my brother I decided to get one of my own. 99 5 speed S model, with winter package,( specs below). First of all the ride quality is what got me hooked as well as the acceleration for a boring heavy snail. The car is based on the impreza platform so almost everything for the impreza bolts on the suspension, motor choices are plenty.... usdm Sti (EJ257), then USDM WRX (EJ207)...then all the jdm motors.

I think first thing will be a general tune up: New plugs, royal purple tranny oil/diff,royal purple motor oil,new plug wires, air filter, coolant flush, brake fluid flush, clutch fluid flush, adjust clutch, new wipers,check/replace brakes/rotors/tie rod ends. Then TINT!!

Here is the first issue. Bloody salt thats placed on the road during winter fucks the suspension up on those subaru and nissans for some reason, especially NY cars. I am going to have to do something about that. Most likely replace the front and rear subframes with STi subframe and replace the arms with aftermarket ones.. HANDLING FIRST!!!!.... and the sti subframe up front will also serve another purpose later [stfu]

Didn't stick with my original plans... so I got a good deal on a Legacy GT-B EJ20R Engine swap.. twin turbo 280hp motor. The EJ20R shares same transmission as The Sti RA.. and will require a 4.44 rear diff.

Image
Subaru Harness is one whole unit and the engine harness is one whole thing with the body harness not separated by plugs. However the engine itself unplugs ffrom the harness with two convenient plugs... on the engine block
Image
In this pic you can see a harness, this isnt the engine harness but part of the body harness, this is basically the fuse box, the starter wires and the a/c wires as well as the alternator plugs.

I am going to make a special harness which will allow me to convert back to USDM spec simply by swapping motors and exhaust manifolds, swapping ecu and plugs. I will basically be making a patch harness for the car at the ecu and block plug..

Getting the twin turbo to fit in the forester might be a problem but I'll figure it.. Also got some of the JDM body parts will arrive in two weeks.

Parts list

EJ20R Complete engine & trans with wiring and ecu
JDM SF5 Forester S t/b Hood with scoop
JDM SF5 Forester St/b Grille
JDM Forester Tail lights
JDM forester Front Corners

Still to come

WRX Front Crossmember
4.44 LSD diff
Boost gauge
USDM 06 STi Stock Exhaust turbo back (2.5" pipes)
Forester SF5 Rear Wing
JDM Forester Sti gauge Cluster

Later down!!

JDM forester Front lip, side skirts and rear lip
STi Brembo brakes

This is my JDM forester Hood sitting in my garage nice and comfy waiting to get sprayed.
Image
Tail lights, jdm one does not have the amber turn signal
Image
Clear corners
Image
2004 Sti complete exhaust (OEM) 2.5" turbo back... don't want to much noise and since this is ideal on the 2.5L sti it should be good on a 2.0 with stock to light upgrade turbo
Image

More to come still, wing, aftermarket top mount, 18x9 Rota Wheels, Coilovers, Rockford amp with JL Audio subs next week.. some other lil bits power folding mirrors on the list..

I am searching for the window visors, if anyone can get me or find me a contact for the window visors thats on the windows of the jdm forester as well as the fog light surrounds, usdm has stupid black fog light covers hate those. Sti big brakes also on the list as well and I need an WRX turbo cross member.
