Typo there, my boy. You can't rev the stroker too high.

Note to those claiming they quick. You see how much hp is needed to be in the 10s and 11s.... there is no question about it.

I'm sure at smokey power level he can hit 10s. The last time at the track he had traction issues.

Evos in the 300 - under 400whp range have hit the mid to high 11s..and few have broken into the low 11s... so its only a matter of time till smokey puts down a few 10 sec passes

Ha ha thanks for the vote of confidence. My goal for this year is to make at least 2 10.9 sec or better passes. I think it's possible even if I have to wait till the fall when the weather is cool again.

Oh KA yeah I meant the 2.3L don't rev high.

i think sci is talking about those fully stripped 300-400hp drag cars.. I haven't seen any evo "in the US" that runs mid to high 11's with a full interior, less than 400hp, and street tires.. its takes like ~300hp to get 12.7 with an EXTREMELY talented driver.. adding another 100hp might get that taleneted driver into the HIGH 11's but definatly not mids.. this driver also did that with a low tank of race gas and no spare tire..

And the thing about all of the fastest evo's running 2.0's, the AMS evo (ran an 8.7 @ 166 yesterday [2thumbsup] new record) runs a 2.1l engine.. im pretty sure its a destroked 4g64 engine though from the older non turbo eclispes (96-99 spyder gs) and newer eclipses(00-05)..

if you can cut some good 1.5's 60' times and do some no lift shifting I think you'll be able to make it.. (might mess up your car a bit though...) why not upgrade to a gt37 or gt40?

Ralph Valdez's evo broke an 11.950 and his car weighed in at 3400
But his setup included Evo 9 turbo + Meth injection on 93 octane...
Boost was @ 24.5 psi

ANother guy broke an 11.525 but he had a 75shot
His car weighed in @ 3365
But he was on race gas

Sean Glazar
11.436
93 octane
3590 lbs
25psi
Capitol Raceway

This car dynoed Shy of 400whp

Its still on the 9.8 housing

First of all plus a 75 shot means the car is not at 400whp.

Maybe I'm seeing funny, but why is it that Sean's car 400ths of a sec faster than Ralph's and its almost 200lbs heavier and only running .5psi more. Also one was running just pump and the other pump and meth. Please enlighten me.

Alot of things to consider

Track prep
Driver Skill
Tuning approach
The car not running nitrous has a overbored throttle body.

More Power doesn't always equate to Faster Quartermile...Faster trap speed yeah but not quarter.

Seans car had the lowest trap speed of the 3 i posted

Rev Limit is also another factor

Remember this evo i posted sometime back?
