Not a clue as to the millage. Don't intend on taking it apart. Today I did a short preliminary test. I.E... put it in each gear and spin it by the clutch (hence the reason i put the clutch on it) as fast as i could and hold the drive shaft end to feel if it span lol. This thing went into each gear smoothly and span nicely with no weird noises. Most I gonna do is put some fresh oil in it come time to mount it on the car. In short, don't trouble, trouble. Only if i am obligated, or have nightmares I might venture into that. Or if I feel super meticulous when i get the engine, which is very possible.

Looks good. The clutch kit for the 7MGTE and 1JZ GTE are Identical. Therefore it will work on a 2JZ. Grab a fidanza wheel for the 2JZ-GE and you're good to go. Keep the progress coming. Also some advice mount engine and tranny outside car garcon save urself tie

hey Lifebegins@25psi re the post I did under your project page concerning the differentials, From my Tag information under the bonnet i got a G252, providing that it was never changed locally according to this list found on supramania.com what i got is a 8" ring gear, with a ratio of 4.556 and a open differential with 2 pinions. Now not sure bout the 2pinions but 4.556 doesn't sound like what I want now does it? Anyways here is the list I found for the MK3. The bold items is what supposedly came stock on the supra's MK3.

Axle Codes:
First Digit = Ring Gear Diameter
A=138mm
B=145mm
C=6.25"
D=6.62"
E=7.1"
F=7.5" ('82-'86 A6 chassis)
G=8" ('86.5-'92 A7 chassis)
H=9"
J=9.25"
K=9.5"
L=10.5"
M=12.5"
N=13.5"
P=14"
R=162mm
S=6.38"
T=6.7"
U=6"
V=10.6"
W=15.5"
X=142mm
Y=158mm

Second and third digits = Gear Ratio

01=3.30
02=3.36
03=3.545
04=3.556
05=3.70
06=3.889
07=3.90
08=4.111
09=4.222
10=4.375
11=4.444
12=4.625
13=4.79
14=4.875
15=5.125
16=5.286
17=5.60
18=5.714
19=5.833
20=6.167
21=6.667
22=6.78
23=6.833
24=7.64
25=4.556
26=5.571
27=3.364
28=4.300 (MA70 NA)
29=4.100 (JZA70)
30=3.727 (Late '89+ MA70 Turbo)
31=3.909 ('87-'89 MA70 Turbo)

32=6.591 OR 5.583
33=7.503 OR 5.583
34=6.781 OR 4.786
35=7.636 OR 5.600
36=4.778
37=3.583
38=3.417

Fourth Digit (number of pinion gears / LSD or Open)

2=2 Pinions Open
3=2 Pinions LSD
4=4 Pinions Open
5=4 Pinions LSD

Ok sounds good. Maybe you can trace the cars origin. that could probably help go a long way to sorting it out. If you bought the car from Coulibistrie, Then I believe its the car of leslie. Now that car I believe was colihaut, and previously owned by some guy O.J but before that is was in posse belonged to ken. I think it was a 1G at first, and it got some of its parts from 140 cause i remembered he bought 140 shell. As to whether he did a complete swap then the he would have transplated the diff as well. 3.73.

The MK3 came in GA70(1G-GTE motor), MA70 (7MGTE and 7MGE), JZA70 (1JZ-GTE). So if the chassis plate goes GA70 know that it orignianlly came 1G, there for had a w58 transmission. and 4.30 gearing in the diff. That is not a favorable diff to have with the R154, you'll jump on ur opponent, but u'll be hardpressed between gear changes. Like a certain supra who wanted to cut my Chaser on batalie hill and bumped his rev limiter trying to stretch his 2nd as long as I could mine. So let me know what the chassis code says and I'll help you figure the rest.

I can confirm that it had a 1G-GEU, did a little research, also can tell from the tag. With an auto trans. but here is the tag information. Can't tell you what is what exaclty bcuz i had to use finer to clear the tag and it rubbed off the descriptions..

E-GA70-BJPVF
1G-GEU
GA70-0029509

206-FG12
A340E-G252
A53

But I guess the only way to know for sure is to get under that car. I won't be going up to the garage for bout 2 weeks. So is only till then, I can find out for sure.

On the list what I meant stock on the MK3; wasn't referring to mines, was referring to the MA70's. According to that list and providing it wasn't swapped out my car diff is roughly 4.56:1 in ratio.

yeah then thats the one. Shouldn't be had to get a diff, it had a white supra turbo coulibistrie, it had lsd, then there was the diff off of 140 so whoever has that shell has the diff.

But its not only LSD, because according to what i researched this afternoon there, alot of varying ratio diff's had LSD. Actually it was optional at the dealers whether your car was Turbo charged or not. From what I understood. So if i am to source a diff, I will also have to check the ratio's in addition to LSD.

exactly, so you're going to need 3.73:1 locking diff as for varying ratio diff I am confused. That I haven't seen but Like I always say I don't know everything.
