back you 100% the beams 2000 3SGE or even a RWD mounted version of the K20. are there any recent successors to the 4AGE?motion sickness wrote:Might as well have put a VTEC motor in as an option. This car sucks!!! I wouldn't think of buying it just because of the motor. Toyota should have worked with Hyundai instead. I guess Toyota can't produce good pocket rockets anymore. They should have put the BEAMS 3S from the Altezza.
I do like the looks.....looks like the "Supra" concept car.
with its current engine choice?scientist wrote:Hyundai and Mitsubishi sharing engines. the new 86 would definitely not stack up against the Genesis Coupe
lol ok sir.... i still vote for the Beams 3S, my mind didnt even cross the 2AZ though.motion sickness wrote:I think if Toyota wanted they could have gotten the BEAMS to pass smog laws. Just add another cat....lol! Maybe even the new 2.5 with dual vvti in the 2010 camrys would be better. I drove and one to Florida back in May, they run nice. The 2.4 is a horrible performance engine. I've driven too many camrys, corollas and TCs not to know better.
Really, Toyota should have gone back to its roots and called Yamaha to develop a motor for this car. This too much of a purist car to have messed up the motor choice. Its like asking Ford to use its EcoTec motor for an all new Supra.
The 3S, SR20, 4G63, RB25/26, 1/2JZ etc are all old engine designs. the amount of modifications + the amount of power loss and efficiency loss would not make none of those engines a worthwhile venture for the manufacturers. That's why they have all been replaced.skidmarx wrote:with its current engine choice?scientist wrote:Hyundai and Mitsubishi sharing engines. the new 86 would definitely not stack up against the Genesis Coupe

G's.. the boxer man. lol lol Its acceptable for a Subaru to be ..a Subaru.. but Not a Toyota to be a Subaru.... I would like to hear how it sounds though. Toyota heads need blows.
NB..These statements may be retracted depending on how well this car proves its self.
