Re: Project: So Slow
Ok so, what should I get? Larger injectors or a FPR? I'm leaning towards an FPR because it's cheaper and I can use it to make more power anyways...
I'm still trying to find an engine hoist.. I'll get some pictures of everything once I get my memory card for my camera back....
I got the ARP headstuds in.. I'm pissed it didn't come with the ARP Moly lube... Hopefully my bearings and main studs should be in soon..

Re: Project: So Slow
So here is a picture update:

So I took off the cam journal holders and saw this.. I wonder if it can be fixed.. (the random dirt is from me, the entire head will be getting cleaned before reassembly lol..) If this wasn't here the car would probably be running by next week..

Those are all the parts I got in.. (bought some larger injectors too)

With these injectors I'm pretty much at the limit of the walbro fuel pump.. I'm thinking about buying another to make a dual pump setup..
Anyways now I have to remove the head to see if it can be repaired. If so, I'll also get it surfaced.. I opened up the bottom and it looks like the rotating assembly was balanced.. The journal bearings down there look like they are in good condition but I think I'll just replace them anyways since I already have new ones..

thats very common on ka24de and sr20 and some others like the 2jz. Some ppl would say take some fine grit sand paper to it I'd only do so if it felt rough. ONLY if it was rough... Use some assembly lube and put the thing back together.

Yeah.. they are pretty rough... rough enough to catch my fingernail.. I'm thinking about just buying a new head ($100).. The deepest scratches are almost .5 mm deep..
