well i dont know about american or japanese, i voted because i know the stats of both because i simply thought they were competing on the track and i have more faith in the corvette's performance vs the gtr. if it was an acura nsx i would still choose the nsx over the gtr.

JAPANESE Baby....
...Here's Why...
...Simply...the Japs sure knows how to take a little and make a A LOT
Let's do the maths...
1. the Americans took a
Supercharged V8; displacement 6162cc;
620bhp; weighing 3350 lbs to do 3.8 seconds...
whereas...
the Japs took a
V6; displacing 3799cc;
480bhp; weighing 3800 lbs to do the same or better 3.5 seconds
do you see what I see......japs are heavier, smaller engine, less horse power but yet still can achieve better numbers....
I just love the japs
Just look at the evo...."A 2 litre engine" are you kiding me. What American can achieve that.

The Spec V is $60,000 more than the vette and still doesn't outdo the vette.
0-60 would not show the true performance of these cars, because after 60 the vette just steam rolls past the GTR. The AWD and launch control on the GTR helps it achieve its feat of 3.5 0-60s, whereas it takes precision to get the rear wheels of the vette to hook up under the power.
You have to give credit where credit is due, the Vette is an amazing achievement. It even matches the GTR in fuel economy. Can the GTR do a roll in burnout at 90mph?

Sci don't be a smart-arse...
The V- Spec price is ridiculous and nah worth it but I am not refering to the v-spec. the ordinary model is $20,000 less than the vette..and wat roll burn out have to do w/ anything ....stupsss
And did you see my comparison.....heavier + less power + smaller engine = better performance
you just want to comment because u want to have the last word ...as always

Ok Kobi lets be a bit more objective.
You can go to a Chevy Dealer and walk away with the corvette at MSRP. the GTR on the other hand....goes out for a minimum of $100,000. Which puts the price difference even closer.
Chevy could have said for the hell of it and Given the Vette more power. Its easy, they have done it b4....the LS series motors are VERY potent and are Very cheap and Easy to make more power with. Hell you can leave the dealer with more power from parts off the GM catalog and still not add $3000 to the price of the car.
The GTR has more traction so it gets a better 60ft and 0-60...but what happens after that? or 10-60, 20-100mph tests? The VETTE just rapes the GTR like it was a fresh virgin.
On the track it has been no different, Both cars in the hands of very competent drivers, The VETTE runs Circles around the GTR.
I am not saying the GTR isn't a great achievement but it has a TALL order going up against. Nissan never anticipated Chevy when they designed the GTR, they only thought of the Porsche GT2 etc.
Put brand loyalty aside, and open your eyes. Take everything into consideration, how much the Parts cost. How reliable they are. How much beating the engines can take, tell me when you find a category in those I just mentioned the GTR outdoes the vette.

Sci there is no loyalty as you put it in making a comparison such as almost half the hp/ heavier car /way bigger displacement and getting same results.
we are talking about
1.
620hp vs. 480hp
2.
3350 lbs vs. 3800 lbs
3.
V8 vs. V6
4.
6.2 litre( 6162cc) vs. 3.8 litres (3799cc)
as you can see the vette have specs edge in each category...this was my comparison so don't get technical with me.
Sci do you honestly think if the gtr have to increase the hp and lower the weight to the same as the vette, the vette can keep up the the gtr?? This is shaving almost 400 lbs and increasing hp by 140hp
![whistling [whistle]](./images/smilies/whistling.gif)
This is the basis for this...take little and make a lot. can you see it from this point of view and just concur instead of trying to make an issue
...And keep the man thread locked
