my philosophy about employing a used motor is that i have to change gasket, and seals. the thing about a used engine is you never know how much usable life these parts have left in them. image not changing them while you have the perfect opportunity when the engine is on the ground, then if them quit in 2 weeks you got lots of labor on your hands again. i will take my chances with new gasket plus ARP Head studs. to do with suspension, i will post up some shots of front and rear soon. this frame dosent use coilovers. there isnt any strut suspension there. the chasis like i said earlier is a solid chasis with solid welded cross members. the suspension is mounted on the chasis and not the frame. its not uni-body construction.

people i located some stuff today. well i decided to build the 1j locally by sourcing a block, with pistons and rods, and tensioner, head with cams and everything except the A/C Alternator and power steering, harness, ecu and bottom pan. gonna need some more things though. will update you all as time progresses. looking for kyb adjustables so far. springs have been spotted already.

I am open to correction on this, but the only other adjustable KYBs for street use I know of that may fit would be the KYB Super Special for the street. I've been looking around for options and these are the only ones I came up with. I just bought a set today for my car, JZS147 Gs300/ Aristo, out of Japan.

the front one dont exactly fit cuz it looks like the rear shock but with the top of the front shock in the photo with the two bushings. it should fit the front but its not the same cuz my spring fits around the shock. plus i need adjustables.

nope, the back shocks in the first image and the shock in the second image is mine. if i cant get them with adjustment option then lowering springs will be the best addition.

Your example and the suspension for my car in the lower pics look exactly the same. If you remove the lowering spring and the strut mount you will realize they are exactly alike. You mentioned the spring goes around the front shock....take cloer look at the lower two in the second pic. The spring goes around the shock. There are several Aristos in DA...checkout their suspsension compared to yours to confirm what I'm saying.

ok let me clarify. the shock fits inside the spring as in the spring and the shock make ZERO contact.
