I know I can make 500whp with way less than $5k. Right now I'm just weighing my options. this is my delima:
1. I want to keep the car automatic to obviously keep costs down
2. If I do keep the tranny auto I don't want to go over the 400whp mark because the tranny will need a rebuild in no time
3. I really want the JDM 2jzgte
4. to keep cost down it would be much easier to just bolt on a turbo kit and keep the car at ~400whp on the stock 2jzge motor
5. I really want the JDM 2jzgte motor but I don't need it to make the power that I want
6. Did I mention I want the JDM 2jzgte?
BTW I have a friend who dropped in a stock 2jzge motor in his 7m Supra and made 530whp with a turbo, head gasket and head studs ONLY @ 27psi of boost.

The Aristo set is already $1700-1900 or the front clip is $2200-2500. The wiring is $500-700, and then all the misc stuff like throttle cable, I/C, engine mounts, hoses, fluids, belts, spark plugs, air filter, fuel pump etc. Guys that just putting the motor in the car. Oh, forgot the labor for install $1000. Now there are a few guys on here that can do most of the stuff by themselves, which cuts the cost down, but you still have to buy the parts. I'm so guys, as it stands I don't see 500whp for 5k. Definately after the engine install, but I don't think before that happens.

I agree with you 100% but if I choose not to do the swap the $5k budget is more than reasonable.

these days some people getting 2jzgte's for under $1200.00 complete....only thing u might have to pay for is wiring and installation.
