.. I just been schooled.

I was just thinking though... It works by putting the engine timing off... leaving some trailing fuel.. which..ignites against the hot walls of the exhaust manifold..? nooo..?.. that why I thought... the runners may have been to small... but.. ya.... please excuse my limited understanding of this.. feel free.. to explain and spread some more knowledge my way..
