I am soo going to steal that idea, probably spray it with that high temp silicon spray to prevent it from dry rotting and moisture

The car runs really well, very good acceleration. Car pulls well but now it entered safe mode so Im trying to deal with that.

Re: My SF5
this radiator hose is clearly temporary. Once i get the car running the way I want it I am gonna have that section of pipe sent to this place in MAryland and their gonna make this entire pipe out of aluminum then have it coated. But right now the car in safe mode. and I can't get above 3000rpm. Stupid speed sensors aren't compartible. Either I fabricate a reed switch type one or go stand alone I'm awaiting word from my buddy in australia then I can decide from there. Just got whooped by a volvo on steroids my gosh some cars shouldn't be street legal ![shocked [:.]](./images/smilies/shocked.gif)

Re: My SF5
Another update....
Found a way to overcome the task of dealing with the reed switch/speed sensor issue. After much research and talking to so many subaru freaks the answer came from the VW guys who do subaru swaps in the old school vw vans. They encounter the problem more often than subaru owners themselves the answer is a simple 3 wire box called a Vehicle speed simulator. This tricks the ecu into thinking that its getting a signal it doesn't car what speed it is just that its getting a signal. It can be purchased from www.enginewiring.com I believe they're based in Erie P.A . Mine is on the way and soon will be able to pass 7psi, and 20% throttle
. However I must say the bloody car moves like crazy considering i can't do better than 7psi and can't floor the X.
Soon to come, wideband will be installed in place of the stock O2 sensor, with analog output reading going to stock ecu as narrowband and wideband readings to Innovative Anologue gauge. Egt gauge and Emanage Ultimate. Some other body parts on the way from japan, grille, sti gauge cluster front lip...... finally built closed deck bottom end to wrap this project up.

Re: My SF5
No more bloody safe mode!!
The Easter holiday has been good to me, finally got time off from worK, connected the diagnostic wires, (Read memory and test connectors)... Suprisingly contrary to my initial assumption that it was the Speed Sensor causing my problems. Anyhow the subaru self diagnostic system is pretty simple... basically every code it pulls is in reference to one of the many sensors on the car. So once you got the code you know what sensor is at fault.. Anyway after pulling the codes I got the following
31 ... Throttle Position Sensor
32... O2 Sensor
33.....Vehicle Speed Sensor
45... Pressure Switching solenoid for boost sensor/ over boost
The O2 code came from starting and running the car from first start up without O2 connected..
VSS same reason I hadn't gotten my new VSS from Subaru.. this made the vss simulator useless since the factory vss providing the signal the sti ecu needed in the first place... didn't know that. 0-5v switching 4 times per wheel rotation.
Now Code 31 and 45 is interesting.... I had to think bout it for a while over some food. The tps and Pressure sensor have one thing in common... I realised that its unlikely to have both codes at the same time. Both system operate on a 5v circuit,,, not 12v. So after doing some cheCks and refering to the wiring diagrams, the two are connected, they share a 5v power source. After a voltmeter reading confirmed the absense fo that I traced it to a wire I cut off earlier that I thought was not needed,
The car immediately came off of safe mode, idle dropped to well too low to idle since i had messed with the idle valve to get it to idle,,, had to raise it back that works perfectly now. No more back flames between shifts
, Throttle response drastically improved, drastically! The car revs solid to 8000rpm at full throttle at an astonishing 16psi 1-3 and spikes to 21 psi in 4th and 5th,ripped an awd burn out without race changing just simply pressing the gas my fresh set of tires. Don't like the spiking and stock bov moans under high boost bouncing off the speed limiter isn't nice either I was in a 35mph zone
Time for mods!!!!!![clapping [clapping]](./images/smilies/clapping.gif)

Re: My SF5
Understeer doesn't really bother me on the fozzy its a little more evident on the sti and impreza, on the forester its just the suv shape thats causing roll. The front end is especially prone to the rolling sensation. Big stoppers and sway bars on friday, as well as air condition!! YAY!!
