scientist wrote: what?! damien you ok? JZA is the chassis number....2JZ is the engine. The costs are high due to the amount of things involved....6 Injectors, Two Fuel Pumps (Although the Titan Kit just comes with another factory pump since the Denso unit is a better unit than the walboros and more costly). The intake manifold alone from most "Names" is more than $1000 usd. so when you add it up..

When you only study one company you tend to forget those little details. Forgive my ignorance. For some reason i thought it had a non-2J in there and just figured that was the engine model.

hmmm ok - i see the ratios differ according to engine application from factory.. changin the final drive on your supra would be effective or not ?
i guess applyin a turbo engine onto a tranny with the wrong ratios would affect
1 hp output
2 0 to 60 times etc
3 may not even work well and break down due to extra power,.

my opinions anyways as i there readin some online articales..

second question to you is re the new zero mileage gearbox..
whats the break in time / period for a new tranny such as this one.
would you have to go through a few oil changes or a desired amount of miles before hammering away on the unit ?
OH YEAH - sure feels like 10 to me.....

I think an OS Giken or Tilton would have been a better choice of clutch.

We just gonna take it easy for the time being for a few reasons, one being the clutch break in period, second one is that we've taken the car up to 175mph and noticed that she feels a little soft especially since the targa was off. So thats gonna be addressed with some suspension components braces possibly sway bar and tweaking thw suspwnsion dampening.

See now with the diffs you can swap diffs between 4.30 and 3.73, putting a 4.30 will drastically improve 0-60 on a turbo supra mk3 however topspeed is reduced and cruising speed will be higher. it is good to match trannys with respective diffs. Unless you're one of those 0-60 racers. See for instance the usdm tt supra has 3.13 gearing then the 6 speed gears achieve more speed per gear, if you keep the auto tt diff which is 3.76, this makes first gear feel like its not even a gear. like a 16 speed truck.

As for diff breaking, although breaking is possible, i think you'd be nore annoyed by sluggish take off or quick take off and no top end. I'd settle for sluggish take off but cruise at 2000rpm with gas prices as they are
